A fascinating book,

This review is from: Fragrant Harbour (Kindle Edition)
This book starts with Hong Kong in the 1930s and finishes in 2005. A period during which there were vast changes in the area from the British rule through the Japanese war then the Chinese refugees escaping the communist rule and finally the hand over to the Chinese. I found it a totally absorbing read with the main characters being very well drawn.
A book that I would recommend and could also be read in conjunction with Gweilo, Memoirs of a Hong Kong Childhood by Martin Booth.
