This review is from: 3D Game Collection: 55-in-1 (Nintendo 3DS) (Video Game)
I bought this game collection to play on my lunch break at work. I inserted the game card into my 3DS in anticipation of playing some games, but initially there was a screen displayed which said I needed to go on to the internet to install an update before I could progress any further. I do not have an internet connection at work and so I could not play the games. I can't see anything on the packaging to suggest that I need an internet connection in order to play. I have only ever used my 3DS at work and have never had to use the internet to play a game before. I just want to turn my 3DS on and play a few games. I don't want to have to run updates before I can enjoy the games. If I wanted to run updates every 5 minutes, I would have bought an iPad! What if I didn't have access to the internet, or I still had a dial-up connection like some people I know? Once I had got the game home I tried again and the update only took a few minutes, so that wasn't too bad. I chose Ludo to play first and I was very disappointed. I have a 2D version of Ludo and I would rather play that than this 3D version. Rolling the die is in 3D, but the rest of the game is in 2D. I think that the 42 All Time Classics for the standard DS is much better than this and if you are thinking of buying this games compilation, take a look at the 42 Games first. 42 All Time Classics (Nintendo DS)

The 3DS has had a number of system updates since it was launched, all of which have had to be downloaded from the internet. It appears that all this game is guilty of is that it will only work on an up to date 3DS. The game may be poor but marking it down because you haven't kept your 3DS up to date is not a reflection of the game's quality.

I have to agree about the quality of the game.
It may say it has '55 games' but as I found out it's more like 10 games which just have different themes making it pointless and boring after around 3 minutes or so.
I got my copy for Christmas with my 3DS XL, and didn't have the update issue the reviewer mentioned - possibly because I updated my 3DS as soon as I had set the console up.
I wouldn't recommend that anyone buy this game this since in my opinion you're just paying for games you probably already have either in other video games or as board games.
I've sold my copy recently - that was the only use I found for it.
If you really want puzzle games then my advice would be to point you elsewhere - such as the Professor Layton series for DS/3DS consoles.
Put simply, don't waste your money on this game - even at £8 rather than £25 you're throwing it away on something of no real value.
I'll be reviewing it in a moment, I won't be paying it much praise.
