1.0 out of 5 stars Yet another update!!, 7 Dec 2013
This review is from: Roadcraft: The Police Driver's Handbook (Paperback)
I bought the long awaited edition in October but very soon after I received a notification of a statement from The Police Federation that the new book contained "Proofing Errors and required clarification of text and diagrams". I took up the matter with TSO who publish the Handbook and was advised that although there were errors etc it was not their intention to issue a correction slip and that any recent customers would have to purchase a copy of the revised edition - which has now been published. Buyers should be aware therefore that the new version described as "New Edition 2013" has now been superseded by the latest version described as "New Edition 2013 - Second impression with amends 2013"

Just to clarify, this book - 'Roadcraft: The Police Driver's Handbook' - has not been amended since the new edition was published in August 2013 and that edition is therefore still the most up-to-date version of the book. The book that has been amended in a second impression is 'Motorcycle Roadcraft: The Police Rider's Handbook' (this book's sister publication for motorbike riders - details at http://www.amazon.co.uk/Motorcycle-roadcraft-police-riders-handbook/dp/0117081884/). I hope that this is helpful. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact roadcraft@police-foundation.org.uk

Further to comments by S. Rowe THORTLE about "Roadcraft - New Edition 2013" It is reasonable to expect this highly regarded reference to be correct in all respects. As TSO have issued a corrected version acknowledging that there were enough errors to warrant a reprint was it 'fit for purpose'? Would not all purchasers of the original be in a position as with any other product bought from a seller to be given a FOC replacement by TSO / Amazon? Have all the copies bought by the Police been bought again or what?
