Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Veho VCC-004-ATOM-NPNG Micro Muvi Atom Handsfree Camcorder with Waterproof Case and 4 GB Memory (Electronics)
Firts thing that hit me when un-boxing was just how small it was, I hadn't given it any thought. It's about an inch long and a centimetre wide (especially for those Imperial and metric pendants). In the waterproof housing it's about 3 centimeters high and half and inch wide. There are all sorts of attachments included for just the camera and the waterproof housing. But not the attachments I wanted (typical). However, in saying that, my wants are quite specific and I'm finding new wants all the time.
The camera has a built in battery (it can't be removed or replaced), it is re-charged via a mini-USB (so either to a PC and mobile phone charger). It records video and still pictures onto a micro-SD card (adapter to normal SD was included with my kit). There are two slider switches, one for on and off and the other switches on or off the sound activation. There are two buttons, one for video and one for stills. There are two LED lights, green for on and red for recording (or needs battery charging etc).
For it's small stature, it is quite heavy. It's casing is some metal and feels good quality, the waterproof housing is also good quality plastic. One thing you have to remember is to turn the camera on before putting it in the waterproof housing (there are two buttons to control the video). The waterproof housing has a screw for a standard tripod mount.
Uses so far have included 1) rock-pooling: fixed on the end of a stick with elastic bands I have entered another world. Even in the darkest places of the rock-pool exposures come out crisp and bright.
2) Dog cam: have fixed the camera to a harness attached to a dog. You don't realise just how many bottoms they do sniff!!
3) Kite cam: attached to a kite for some aerial photography.
This camera is great fun!! Just thinking up new ways to use it. However, because of it's small size and sound activation it could be dangerous in the wrong hands (but I haven't thought of those uses yet).
Why 4 stars and not 5. I would have liked a slightly wider angle of view and there isn't much bundled software. Editing these masterpieces has to be with other software. But what do you expect for the price!?

Elizabeth Durkin says:
When you used this with your dog was the quality okay to be able to make out what actually was going on? Also, do you know whether the quality is any good at night time?
I ask the above as I'm thinking of buying one for my cat to see what he gets up to during the day and at night as we have recently moved house and for future use in my career (hopefully!)
