This review is from: LG - DRT389H Digital TV DVD Recorder with USB 2.0 Interface (Electronics)Went from a Samsung to this model and this is a giant leap in comparison.
Clear pictures, easy recording, freeview no problems, lets me plug in a usb stick (!!!!!!!!!!!!!). Great stuff for the price. I found the negative reviews here slightly fair - it's not for advanced users. Cheap but very cheerful. It's simple to set up and has a quick boot up time. Really, really like this machine.

To be fair my review was a bit harsh but that's because watching up-scaled Freeview via HDMI proved to me that the built in Freeview on my LG TV is rubbish. My TV only seems to up-scale Freeviw to 567i which on a 32" TV isn't very good.
So this LG DVD players gives me a great picture but the sound does drop out sometimes which is very annoying. Just a bit fed-up with LG, I mean my TV cost £430, back in February, and the built in Freeview has been proved, by myself, to be complete rubbish.
Getting back to the DVD recorder, well it's just a shame it doesn't quite make the grade for me but for others it may be fine. I'm hard to please perhaps but I will concede that the up-scaling is very good and the recording quality is pretty good.

Your comments are very fair. My audio-visual setup is quite basic. First time I have gone for an LG and compared to the Samsung I had - it's a dream. Fully appreciate your comments though about the upscaling as I'm not there with that technology yet.
