Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Twenty-Eight and a Half Wishes (Rose Gardner Mystery) (Kindle Edition)
I downloaded this to my Kindle because a) it was inexpensive and b) I thought the plot sounded reasonable. I was so glad I bought it! It flowed well and was better and quite different to others I've bought in the same price bracket. I just wanted to keep on reading and, like a previous reviewer, kept saying just one more page/chapter. Then before I knew it I'd read several.
On the negative side I did think that Rose, who was a downtrodden mouse of a girl, grew into a brave and feisty young woman extremely quickly and after a lifetime of wearing flat shoes she even managed 3 inch heels in next to no time which is no mean feat. There was one other irritation too: the dialogue that contained so many words missing the last letter of words ending in ---ing. I know the author was trying to remind us that the characters were Southern but a few paragraphs would have sufficed. As it was, it was all the way through the book which I found a bit offputting.
Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed this and have already downloaded No 2 in the series, plus a sample of Chosen.
