A solid and modern angle on food for health,

As a serious carb junkie for most of my adult life I am some one who has had to be on my own case constantly when it comes to fast weight gain, I've done well in terms of willing myself through many many versions of low fat, low GI, blood type and even a few low carb diets but in the case of all of them I have of course slipped back into former habits, allowing myself nibbles of "trigger" foods and before I know it BOOM! Once again that chubby distant relative seems to be staring back at me from the mirror....
I decided to collate all the information I've taken from the many diet books I've read and ask myself which approach suited me best, I always felt the low carb diets worked because they force you to break the cycle many of us have with simply consuming far too much carbohydrate (especially refined carbs).
What I love about Dr Charles Clark's method is unlike Atkins (which I did and had success with) is it seems to allow just enough Carbs in to keep some nasty side effects away, ok the weight loss is a tad slower than more extreme methods but any expert (Serial dieters;) will tell you the faster it comes off the less time before it all comes back! His emphasis is on good nutrition via a higher protein and carb restrictive life style and after three weeks of living it I am happy to say I feel great, not hungry, not food obsessed and my body is changing shape before my families eyes, Hell me and the wife can even still share a few glasses of wine in the evenings! I could not say that about any other diets i've attempted, especially low fat where I'm starving all the time and Atkins where I simply felt very odd due to it's more severe nature.
The bottom line for me is I have an unhealthy relationship with Carbs, I simply cannot help but over eat them, I'm a carb junkie, with this book I'm somehow managing to live without most of them and I'm doing it with ease! That is a minor personal miracle and I feel free.
I am well aware though that in order to make this last it's got to be something I keep consciously at the centre of my relationship with food, that is the really tough part but for the first time I think I may have a way to do it.....
If you're an unhappy carb junky this could be the best way to change that, I also recommend "the end of overeating" by David A. Kessler, it's a great motivator that works in conjunction with The New High Protein Diet
PS (5 weeks or so later now and still going strong, a life style not a diet)!
