Excellent noise reduction,
This review is from: Panasonic RP-HC55E-S In Ear Noise Cancelling Earphones (Electronics)
Well, what do you need to know other than these headphones do an excellent job of reducing distracting background noise of the street, traffic and when on public transport.
I wear them on my way to work by bus and then on foot through my city and back home again. They block out enough noise to allow the volume to be reduced to safer levels than I had on my previous Sony ear plug (which were non-noise reducing).
The sound quality is excellent (I use these with the superb Sony NWZ-S639F MP4 player).
The plugs fit very nicely (there are three different size rubber fittings) and are comfortable.
A unit, carrying a single battery, will fit neatly to the inside pocket of your suit jacket - the wire is not long enough for this unit to go in a trouser pocket however - hence the 4 stars. The unit itself has a useful volume slider that allows you to quickly lower the volume if someone needs to speak to you, wihtout you having to dig out your player, unlock it, and turn the volume down. This slider is not your overall volume control however as it has a small volume range - thereby reducing the risk of accidently putting the volume far too high.
To conclude: the product has a quality feel and comes highly recommended for everyday wear when walking through the street or to avoid particularly in my case the noise eminating from those annoying kids of today on the public bus on the way to work!
The NR ability of these plugs keeps annoying noise from kids down to a beautiful minimum! Peace and tranquility is possible on public transport after all - except for the fact that First bus drivers remain incapable of providing you with that smooth journey - some things even these plugs cannot change! ;-)
*********UPDATE: 28 August**********
I am using these headphones for about one to two hours per day on journey to/from work, and after a couple of months usage am now only on my second battery (for the noise cancelling unit).
I now have the volume typically at 10, not 18-20 as previously and hence highly recommended for protecting your ears from the long term damage.
