Best outdoor watch so far.,
This review is from: Suunto Core Outdoor Sports Instrument (Sports)
One of the best watches I've had so far.
I've always been Casio fan but after having tried a couple of Protrek I decided to switch to Suunto.
This watch is great and although bigger than a expected, its weight makes it worth having.
I decided to go for Core instead of X10 mainly because of price an it's features.
And after reading a lot of bad reviews regarding GPS I went for this Coore and happy with it.
Regarding the features I can say they a bit tricky to setup, but once you do it properly you're done.
Watch is good
Altimeter & depth meter is so far a bit dissapointing, however I guess it's because I haven't got a proper map with altitute with me and I haven't found one. So I've decided to use Google Earth altimetre and test it....by the way I live in Malta, so high mountains are quite a rarity over here.
Depth meter on the other hand is good enough.
Compass is quite accurate....even though most of the people say it's not. I think the problem is that you DO have to have a good pulse and hold it properly. I've tested it with a Suunto KB-14 compass and both gave me the same readings.
Just a piece of advice, check the real name of the model you want on the official suunto site and then choose the one with the same name here in Amazon. The pictures and the names do not match. I was lucky and I got the one I originally want so thumbs up!
