This review is from: Sams Teach Yourself Ajax, JavaScript, and PHP All in One (Sams Teach Yourself All in One) (Paperback)
This book covers basic javascript the Ajax both are fairly easy to follow. it helps if you have done some programing in an object Orientated language such as Delphi
PHP, like the other two parts is explained in simple termsand
it comes with Apache on a disk which means you can run a php page on your local computer (PHP needs a server ie Apache to run on and doesnt run on windows)it also comes with a jedit, use it dont be tempted to write PHP in a graphic programming tool such as Dreamweaver

Mr. L. Rust says:
PHP needs a server ie Apache to run on and doesnt run on windows - This is wrong. I run both Apache and PHP of a windows machine.

You can even get applications like WAMP and XAMPP which handle all the installs for you.
