I thought the first and second books were brilliant. I thought the third was not as good as the other two. and then I read the fourth book! I thought the fourth book was not in the same company as the others. The story was drawn out, predictable and left little to the imagination. The book relies heavily on the history established in the first three books as you might expect. The problem for me was that I found the whole situation to be unrealistic. I realise that a book weaves a spell and imagination is required to buy into it. In this case even without imagination it would be easy to see where the story line was going. In fact the directional markers were so strong that the end was predictable in every sense less than halfway through the book. I see from previous reviews that others thought it great. Well good on them because for me it was disappointing. Sorry but there it is.
