This review is from: The English Language: A Guided Tour of the Language (Paperback)
For so long during my English Language A Level i put off reading this book. Yet now i have finished and i am starting my English degree next year, i am reading it. I have to say that this is a great introduction to an A Level course in English, and for those who just want to know more about the language we speak.
It includes information on grammar, vocabulary, RP, spelling, the uses of English now and the history of English. It is a fascinating read.

Isn't this facility supposed to be used for reviews rather than for having a pop at someone just to enjoy being a little mean. None of us are perfect. Before taking a swipe at others I'd suggest checking your own reviews for errors - I've just spotted four or five mistakes of grammar and punctuation from reading just a couple. The review that was posted is useful - shush!

Douglas Wood says:
Funnily enough I'm fairly sure that "i" for "I" is just the sort of usage David Crystal wouldn't object to. In other words he wouldn't mind an "i" for an "I" (sorry!)
