3.0 out of 5 stars How about a simple 4 CD set?, 13 Feb 2014
This review is from: Here Come The Nice (Audio CD)
The current box set looks amazing but I wonder about all the add-ons which no doubt boost the price substantially. For those who love this sort of stuff it all looks fantastic but in the longer term I wonder if there any chance that Universal might issue a basic 4 CD set of just the music. Perhaps if we all ask nicely!
(Have bought all the deluxe issues and going back to pre-Immediate days, I have four CD versions of 'Small Faces' and the original Decca LP

Totally agree with you there mate. I'm personally not really interested in all the artefacts that come with the box. If it was just the cds for a third of the price I'd be really up for it. I like to spend my limited funds on music but not collectables that you can only look at. Deluxe edition autumn stone will be interesting when e n it comes tho....stay cool!!

Universal no longer have the rights to the Small Faces catalogue and it's BMG's disinterest in a UK release of this box that has led to the farcical situation we find ourselves in with the release of this box in the UK.

Yes, you are generally correct. Universal has sold off "Sanctuary Music", which held UK-only rights to the "Immediate Records" catalogue. However, Universal Music(on a worldwide basis) continues to own the "Small Faces" 1965-66 Decca recordings.

Will do! Since I last looked the price has gone up by about £70. That's not all too beautiful!
