This review is from: Knit Kimono: 18 Designs with Simple Shapes (Paperback)
The previous reviewers were right to rate this book highly. I am thrilled with it. As well as the beautiful, unusual designs, it contains loads of interesting information about kimono and other Japanese costume.
Although there are only 18 designs, they are so attractive, flexible and simple in construction (that being the nature of kimono) that a reasonably experienced knitter will find it quite straightforward to adapt them to their own preferences: for example I will change the dangling kimono sleeve on some to make them more useful for work. This means that the possibilities for knitting from this book are almost limitless.
A lot of the yarns will be tricky for UK knitters to obtain, but again the simple nature of the designs will make substitution more enjoyable than burdensome! I have a number of designs earmarked as stash busters already...
I can't wait to start.
