4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent 2nd album, 11 Mar. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Tales from Terra Firma (Audio CD)
They've moved on a little from Beachcomber's Windowsill but not so far as to lose the charm that they have. Once again lyrics and vocals are sublime.
I have one gripe in that you can't hear the lyrics of all the tracks clearly, something that was a big plus on 'Beachcomber's'. I want give it 4.5 but based on that and the fact that after 50 years of music listening 'Beachcomber's' is in my top ten albums I'm going to have to give it a four.

...After 35 years of loving/buying music (i'm 49) .... I too consider Beachcombers ... one of my all time favourite albums .
I trust your review ,it is clearly fair and honest , no backlash , and no idolarty , which is refreshing .
Damn it , For sure I am going to purchasce the C.D. , but having listend to the samples , and reading a number of reviews that echo your views Sir , I am disappointed that the album falls a little short of their previous work of genius.
We can't have perfection everytime , but that does not stop one from dreaming .
A number of people have mentioned that the vocals are somewhat drowned out in places , what madness is that ? .
The vocals on Beachcomber are astounding in their clarity and beauty, I despair.
Some meddler needs his arse kicked .
: )
I hope I love it , I expect I will .
