Good Indicator, But Has a Few I2C Comms Problems,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: BlinkM - I2C Controlled RGB LED (Electronics)
In my use (a monitoring system) it sits on a fast I2C bus (100K) with 3 other devices (RTC, Flash memory, LCD display) and all the devices get heavily used. Over time I found that occasionally the BinkM would not reply properly to a command and lock up the bus preventing comms with all the devices on it.
Only when I power cycled the BlinkM (just the BlinkM, not anything else) could I talk to all the devices again. When I moved the other devices to a second I2C bus (leaving the BlinkM on its own) the problem occurred much less frequently, so it looks as though the micro-controller firmware in the BlinkM has one or two timing bugs in it.
