Decent budget effort,

This review is from: The Collection (Audio CD)
There are several Billy Ocean compilations and this is a flawed but curious addition to them. Firstly, it contains Ocean's biggest hits. The sound is of good quality (if a bit loud) and the booklet includes a short essay. What I like most about this collection is the mix of tracks- hits, album tracks, edits and remixes. This makes it a more interesting listen than the other Ocean Greatest Hits type albums. Several Ocean albums have been reissued recently so a lot of the remix material is avaliable elsewhere but here, at least, they are conveniently in one place. The following are tracks less readily avaliable but have been included here- License to Chill [12" 7:15], Stay the Night [7" 3:31], Caribbean Queen [Special Mix 7:57]. The massive flaw with this album is the terrible edit of When the Going Gets Tough. It fades out early and is just 3 minutes long. In comparison the original 7" was 4.09 and the album version was 5:46. Furthermore, European Queen is missing. On the whole it's a decent effort for a budget album.
