this is a no brainer, an album by the one and only phylis hyman ,becomes available on cd for the first time.......ugh.....well one listen to this collection, will not only convince you to part with your cash...it will convert any non phylis fans to go seek her entire back catalogue....and then some. this album one of four for arista... is a great example of her mixture of uplifting, tunes and oh so soulful ballads...a great tribute to a sadly missed heroine of soul.....buy this album you wont regret it , its a wonderful joyride from start to finish.

M. Armstrong says:
This is actually the 3rd time " Somewhere In My Lifetime " has been issued on CD. It was originally released in Japan only as part of the Lady Soul series together with Phyllis's " You Know how To Love Me " and " Can't We Fall In Love Again " albums. There were also some of Angela Bofill's Arista albums including " Too Tough ", " Teaser " and " Something About You " and Evelyn Champagne King's RCA albums " Smooth Talk " and " I'm In Love " released in the same series.
A digitally remastered and expanded version of " Somewhere In My Lifetime " was also released in the US in 2010 together with the " Goddess of Love " album which was also remastered with 2 bonus tracks. At that time it was the debut on CD for " Goddess of Love " which had been long overdue.
This edition is a great release from soulmusic especially with the inclusion of the extended versions of " Kiss You All Over and " So Strange " plus the 3 additional tracks that were originally from the " Sing A Song " album sessions but subsequently removed by Arista before they released " Somewhere In My Lifetime " with the track listing that appeared when it was first released.
It will also be fantastic news for fans that soulmusic are going to issue " Goddess of Love " in a similar expanded format shortly.
Finally Phyllis's back catalogue is at last beginning to receive some of the long overdue attention and treatment it so deservedly merits in recognition of the great body of work and legacy an immensely gifted but sadly underrated and overlooked but great talented artist left behind for us.
