This review is from: I Just Made the Tea: Tales from 30 Years Inside Formula 1 (Hardcover)
This is an excellent book and illustrates perfectly from an "unsung hero from behind the scenes" perspective of how the world of Formula One has changed over the years into the slick ultra professional and hightly organised business it is today. The logistics of F1 today are mind blowing but this book reminds us of how it used to be. I worked in F1 in the seventies and remember Di and Stuart so this book brought back fond memories of a simpler time in F1. Having worked again since then in the business I know for sure that it is much easier and so well organised now but there is something about the atmosphere and comoraderie of the earlier days that those who were there miss. This book is unusual in relating this from the eyes of two well known and popular members of the F1 fraternity who ran motor homes/hospitality in the days when the paddock was a cosier envoirenment and the Spires certainly saw some things in their time! The fact that they becamse so friendly and trusted by so many famous names in the sport is testimony to them both. This book is well written with interesting pics, humerous, sometimes sad but very informative and above all entertaining.
