Stunning - should be common knowledge,
This review is from: Sweet Poison (Paperback)
An extremely interesting, compulsive read that might just save your life. I have recommended this book to all my friends. You may take an interest in this book if you are looking at weight loss, but that's just the tip of the iceberg as far as what sugar does to our bodies and why it (or more specifically, fructose) should be actively avoided where possible. I used to have a real sweet tooth but I've dropped sugar from my diet overnight - it really is that bad for you.
I have previously taken an interest in other GI diet theories but they never went far enough to explain our increasing obesity problem or what the root cause of our growing health issues are.
I really liked this book because it explains WHY sugar is bad on a physiological level (citing the respective studies and scientists in the process). Don't be afraid of the science though. The author has worked hard to make what could be a very complicated subject, readable and easy to understand.
The only people that would fight to support sugar after reading this are 'big sugar' and their paid mouthpieces or those in denial that sugar "isn't that bad" because it means they will have to give up their chocolate fix.
