This review is from: Steiner's War: The Merville Battery (Kindle Edition)
Whilst well researched it lacked a story line to bring the details into a drama which this event surely was . I was expecting more of a narrative involving the characters and their feelings during the invasion and its aftermath .

Peter Tompsett says he was expecting more if a narrative and more about the feelings of the "characters" involved.
In the introduction I wrote " I have not attempted to dramatise, jingo-ise or write this book as a novel. It consists
almost entirely of verbatim accounts." Also by describing the various soldiers as "characters", does Mr Tompsett think the book was a work of fiction? M. Strong, author.
