I've never heard of Rachel Allen; it was a promo price which tempted me to buy this book. I'm delighted with my purchase. The book's well set out and easily navigable on iPad, with appetising colour photos.
At the beginning, there's a table of contents which lists not only the recipes, but is also broken down into subheadings including meat dishes, egg and cheese dishes, fish etc. so it's easy to choose a food type and then look at recipes for that specific ingredient. The recipes are very easy to follow and make excellent use of leftovers. Even Bubble and Squeak becomes a main cooked from scratch if you wish! In total, there's about 100 recipes. This book was on offer at pence, but I'd certainly be tempted to look at other books by Rachel Allen as I like her easy going no nonsense approach. Brilliant value.
