Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Anyone who considers themselves to be a bit of a foodie knows the influence of the Roux family on British restaurants. They literally started it all in this country. And now with Masterchef Michel Roux jr is bringing the family name back into the public eye.
This book is by his father, Michel Roux, one of the brothers who opened Le Gavroche in the sixties and now has two covetted Michelin stars. So, you know that the recipes in here will be top notch, what is surprising is how uncomplicated they are to make. Sure, some of them require more advanced skills, but even my limited knowledge of cookery gets me most of the way through.
What's particularly nice about his book is the presentation of it - it's more of a coffee table book than a recipe book, and as fine dining is now all of the rage you could quite happily leave this in the front room for guests to be impressed by!
