Survival against the odds.,
This review is from: Jungle Journal: Prisoners of the Japanese in Java 1942-1945 (Paperback)
This book portrays the humanity that many British POWs retained during the dark days of Japanese imprisonment in Java. I was struck by the determination of POWs to remain sane by producing quality camp journals and taking part in drama, sport and other entertainment, as planning escapes was clearly futile. This is book I would highly recommend to anyone interested in human survival against the odds.
