It did, and I was there,
This review is from: Faust - Nobody Knows If It Ever Happened [DVD] (DVD)
I was at this gig, and I can honestly say, it's the only gig I've ever been to where I thought I might just die.
The show, the music, everything, was fantastic, but it wasn't until the end, when what looked initially like dry ice started coming from the stage through the audience, quite reminiscent of the film The Fog.
Well, when this "Fog" reached you, you suddenly realised that this wasn't any normal dry ice, this was "I can't see my hand in front of my face" dry ice. Then the smoke alarms in The Garage started, people started panicking, I searched for the illuminated exit signs, and saw none, and I too started to panic. Was the place on fire? Were we all going to die? Seriously, this was going through my, and everybody else's minds, and it got very scary.
I eventually found my way out by following the masses, some people were crying in the street outside the venue, I was just relieved to be alive.
This was an amazing experience, and in some ways, it's the best gig I've ever been to, but also the worst.
I've given it 4 stars, but I've actually never watched the dvd, though I do own it. So whether or not this dvd portrays the chaos of the gig accurately, I have no idea, but it deserves 4 stars for the sheer madness of the event.
I doubt any band would get away with doing this ever again, but I'm glad it was recorded, and one day, I might even watch it.
