The cost of loving,
This review is from: The Horse Boy: A Father's Miraculous Journey to Heal His Son (Paperback)I was so glad that Penquin Books sent me notice of the book, Rupert Isaacson The Horse Boy.
Rupert and his wife Kristin are honest about their fears and feelings for their son Rowan. She beleives Rupert to be mad when he tells of his dream of visiting Mongolia, the Shaman, and the reindeer people. A subject discussed, then left to ferment in each others minds. In the meantime Rowan is being himself, an autistic child with all the difficulties that we can only learn from Rowan and his family.
Then Betsy the horse becomes the first step in the coming whole of Rowan. She respects and allows Rowan to ride her, and then a meeting with a group of Shamans.
The stage is set for the journey to Mongolia, to the meeting with Shaman , and especially Ghoste the shaman of the reindeer people.
We are allowed to travel with them, to share the joys, sorrows heartache of the family, friends and guides. We see Rowan growing, changing, and through all this the loving care of his parents, even on the darkest days.
You must travel with them, a physical and spiritual journey, that is well worth the reading. Dont read the end first! Travel with them, and you yourself will be enriched with them
As I finished the book, I found myself in prayer with Ghoste, the family, guides and friends. God's healing at work in many many people.
Please buy and read, and buy for friends.
Thank you Rupert, Kritine and Rowan for allowing us to travel with you, and a glimpse into the future
