Good value basic monitor.,
This review is from: LG 22EN33S-B 22-inch LED 1920 x 1080 VGA Monitor - Black (Accessory)
Following the demise of my old TFT monitor it was either go back to my crystal sharp but huge 19" CRT monitor or get something new. After much investigation, this basic 22" offering won the day. I only needed a simple old-fashioned desktop computer monitor with a D-Sub connection so HDMI and sound capabilities were superfluous.
With the resolution set to 1440x900 at 75Hz (at the recommended 1920x1080 everything is far too small) the default straight-out-of-the-box settings were far too bright and after much tweaking of the settings (currently at 20 brightness, 25 contrast & custom colour at 75 each and gamma 0) the picture is about as good as I can get it but is still a little washed-out compared to my old CRT monitor. Also, as has been noted by other reviewers, there is a noticeable and irresolvable increase in brightness from top to bottom of the monitor (possibly as a consequence of poor vertical viewing angle). Installing the supplied LG drivers made no difference and I had hoped that there would be a handy setup wizard like on our splendid LG TV - sadly not. The stand is sturdy and easy to fit and tilts but does not swivel nor does it have height adjustment. The horizontal viewing angle is excellent and sitting the monitor on a book and tilting it back seems to get the vertical viewing angle about right.
All-in-all an adequate, well priced, no-frills monitor bought via Amazon.fr.
