This review is from: Cloud Atlas (Blu-ray)
This film is not the easiest to categorise. It's basically 6 stories with interwoven elements, and at times it's more like a dream.
It is VERY well made - if there's one thing I like it's a well designed 'world', especially for the sci fi bits and this is very well done.
The music is probably the unsung hero here, and helps to pull you in - which is essential because you have to watch every second or else it's easy to lose the threads. There is a lot of jumping from one story to another, but this actually helps in some ways.
Ignore the 1 star reviews - probably posted by those who like their stories a little more obvious. That's not to say this is a highbrow movie - it isn't - but it does demand your attention, which in my opinion it deserves because it is well made and interesting.
My only criticism is that some of the far future dialogue is mumbled - which may be part of the future patois they've created, but doesn't help when you want to hear it.
