Tana is a 17 year old girl that wakes up in the bathroom after a party, to find she is the sole survivor of a vampire attack, so she thinks. She finds her ex-boyfriend Aiden tied up on a bed and knows he has been bitten and will soon turn. There is another chained in the room, called Gavriel, she sees he is a vampire but as he warns her to leave before the others come back she thinks he is a good person and rescues them both.
The 3 of them head towards Coldtown where vampires, the infected and some normal humans live all walled in together. They meet Winter & midnight, a boy & girl pair of twins that want to go to Coldtown to become vampires. Tana thinks they are mad but she takes them with her.
All five reach the border and Tana gets a 'Marker' for handing in Gavriel the vampire. A marker is a pass to leave Coldtown if you are not infected, it pays for the tests to prove you are clean.
Everything changes inside of Coldtown, Gavriel leaves to sort out his unfinished business but not before he kisses Tana, this leaves her with mixed feelings. Gavriel is not who he makes out to be, he is someone much more dangerous, bordering on madness and full of revenge against the person that caused him to be like he is. But meeting Tana changes something inside of him.
Tana meets a few good people that help her along the way and a few that are not good. It is kill or be killed and she has to kill to stay alive, she doesnt want to be a vampire and aims to stay human. With the help of a few friends, old & new, human & vampire, Tana's adventures are just beginning and she takes us along for the ride.
The Coldest Girl in Coldtown is a fast paced story of a Teenage girl that takes us along with her on her Journey, outside & inside Coldtown. She is a good, kind & helpful person that seems to bring out the best in most people. The story sometimes backtracks to something that has happened in either Tana's or Gavriels life that shows us why they are like they are.
A well written tale and a fresh new take on vampires for teens.
