Simple, gadget free, hopefully will outlast previous expensive kettles.,

Perfect. Stainless steel with no plastic liner to leach chemicals into the water. No water gauge window to crack and fail, no soft close or hinged lid to break. No lights to fail.
It just boils water efficiently, and hopefully will outlast all the fancy kettles I've wasted money on. And, with the two year EEC compulsory guarantee on all electrical goods, I should get at least 2 years out of it at £10 per year.
The water level indicator inside the kettle is plastic which is a pity, but it is a minor amount of plastic compared to many kettles.
The pinch lid is ok. Knobs can come off so the simple pinch lid is another reason why this one might last.
It is single walled so hot to touch, but for goodness sake, so were all kettles before they started making plastic and double walled ones.
The water tastes fine with no off flavours.
It pours perfectly.
Very sad to report that after nearly a year of use, rust and staining is showing round the spout. A great pity because apart from this the kettle has been perfect.
Having been promised a refund on the kettle because of the rust I searched really hard for another simple kettle that didn't have unnecessary bits to fail. I even looked at the "repairable" £120 Dualit classic, and came back to this kettle as offering such plain down to earth value for money. Got a new one, delighted again.
