I really enjoyed this ghost story. Set in 1930 a house party is taking place and in order to accommodate all the guests the unused old wing of the house is unlocked, with very frightening consequences. The sad story of Arabella, a seamstress to Queen Elizabeth 1 is unleashed. Snip, snip.
The family and house guests start to be haunted by sleepless nights and weird goings on, at the heart of which is Arabella who wanders the house cutting material with her scissors to make a fine gown for the Queen. The story moves between 1930 and 1569 where the sad story of mad Arabella is told. Snip, snip.
This is a lovely ghost story with flashes of humour, a very enjoyable read. Just make sure you know what's in your attic! Snip. Snip.
