This review is from: Acer Iconia A1 7.9-inch Tablet PC (MTK Cortex A9 1.2GHz Processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB eMMC, WLAN, BT, 2x camera, Android 4.2) (Personal Computers)
I took a long time to decide on which tablet to go for so when I eventually picked this one I was delighted when it arrived.
Unfortunately though there was a problem with the micro SD card reader. At first I thought that maybe it was my SD card so I purchased a new one, but that didn't solve the problem. So I contacted Amazon and they suggested that I try Acer first to see if it could be fixed and if not they were happy to refund me.
So I got in touch with Acer and have to say that their service was superb. They went through a couple of things that it could be, like checking to see if the SD card worked in any of my other machines (which it did). And the option of doing a 'factory re-set' on the tablet to see if this would help it recognize the card. (I had actually tried both of these options this prior to contacting them).
So it was decided that it had to be sent to Acer (which they pay for) they send you a postage label and you can either take it to a local collection point or arrange a collection from your house.
Anyway, it was gone for one week and when it returned they'd had to replace the board inside as their was a fault with the card reader.
It was a bit of a pain, as I'd only had it for a few days before I then had to send it away to be repaired. But at the same time, it was good to know that Acer were very efficient and were able to fix the problem. (it gives you some comfort in case something happened in the future)
It works absolutely perfectly now by the way, and I am more than happy with it
I would say if you're looking for a light, slim, easy to use tablet this is perfect. Its very fast and the camera is of a very good quality.

Thanks for your update. You seem like a very patient person. Like you said it was abit of a pain, i think Amazon should really have offered to replace your product with a brand spanking new one without any questions. They should at least compensate you for your inconvenience surely? Now rather then owning a brand spanking tablet you own one which is a refurb? Hope nothing else goes wrong with it.

Glad you got sorted. Personally, I would have returned it to Amazon, it was their responsibility to sort it, as you bought it from them, your 'contract' was with them.
