Expensive and some issues.,
This review is from: Philips Wake-Up Light Alarm Clock HF3505/01 with Sunrise Simulation - 2 Natural Sounds and Radio (Personal Care)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
First the good points, as a way to wake up it is relaxing to have the light increasing gradually. The unit looks stylish and well made and both the display and the light intensity are adjustable. The former is especially valuable as it gives the option of not lighting up the room with a bright clock display, an obvious point often missing from other clock radios. The touch sensitive buttons illuminate when your hand goes near them around the display and work well although turning the light and alarm off can be fiddly while conventional switches in the stand cover alarm options.
Now the downsides, seems very expensive at the current price of £95 for a clock radio especially as it is FM and not DAB while the sound quality is not great from the small speaker. There is an alternative of sampled birdsong or a cuckoo which I quite like but my wife hates! Th other issue is the 30 minute sunrise effect does wake you, usually after 2 minutes meaning you have missed out on 28 minutes of sleep. The clock is powered by a mains transformer but the lead is quite short so you will need a socket close to your bed.
Overall this is a good quality item and I am not sure if there are any alternatives but seems expensive for what it is.
