Allmusic site wrong again: Absolutely brilliant,
This review is from: Peace At Last (Audio CD)
What were critics thinking about when they gave this one short shrift? The allmusic site gives this just it's 'average' mark - three stars. What nonsense! Peace At Last is every bit the follow-up that Hats warranted. This is also certainly superior to the first try of A Walk Across The Rooftops. So many brilliant tracks: of course Family Life, but also Body and Soul, Sentimental Man, War Is Love and Soon. Well, the whole album, in fact, is marvelous. Where Hats is for the nightime, Peace At Last is very much a daytime album mostly lacking the melancholy of the former. Family Life is the great exception, being the greatest stand-out of all and at the same time being full of doubt. Pretty much the rest is incredibly uplifting.
