Great for veg - use the saucepan for pasta or rice...,

Since I bought this a few weeks back, I have used it for all different types of vegetables - a large container full of new potatoes takes around 50 minutes to cook; a small portion of broccoli or green beans may take 10 - 15 minutes. It also worked well for stir fry soba noodles (20 minutes for two portions). Ready made sauces can be reheated in 15 minutes.
It was not good for rice or pasta - taking 35 - 45 minutes! And for pasta the maximum portion you can cook is for two people. Far quicker to use a saucepan.
Another downside is the extra washing up. The machine has to be filled with water, then a middle section put in place, then the steaming compartments (with or without the containers depending on what you are cooking) and that all has to be washed up afterwards and the machine emptied. If you're using the machine to capacity it is probably worthwhile - for a few portions of veg it probably isn't.
On the plus side, the controls are simple to use and if you are organised and get used to the timings for different items, you can get the whole meal timed to be ready at the same instant.
In summary, it is great for vegetables and the controls are easy to operate and you can prepare a complete meal and have it ready all at once; but ... it takes up quite a lot of room on the worktop, is too slow for rice and pasta, makes a lot of washing up.
