Great bread making guide ....,
This review is from: The Bread Bible: Over 100 Recipes Shown Step-by-step in More Than 600 Beautiful Photographs (Hardcover)
This is a very good book for any 'ambitious beginner' who wishes to extend their knowledge of breadmaking in terms of both recipes and techniques . It includes a great variety of international recipes , including unusual breads such as 'Russian potato bread' and Lavash ( a paper thin far eastern flatbread ). A variety of French breads are included, including at least one which has to be left to rise overnight , and also Italian classics such as Ciabatta and Indian breads ; basically directions for making virtually every type of bread you could think of are included in this book .
Although I am not a prolific breadmaker I , for instance, learned how to make sourdough ( very handy in times of no yeast) and bagels through reading it. It's a large format book with alot of photographs and is very good value at around £10.
Happy baking !
