1.0 out of 5 stars Bored To Distraction, 30 Sept. 2013
By
This review is from: The Place Beyond The Pines [DVD] [2013] (DVD)
Went with a girl to the Electric Cinema in Notting Hill.
2/3s of the way through we were both so bored we had finished 2 bottles of wine and done checking our email, facebook etc... and finally gave up and left.
It takes a lot for me to walk out of a film but this felt like Chinese water torture.
I like all sorts of films including slow burners, but I just couldn't cope with this.
2 hours I will never get back.

Just an idea, but maybe if instead of getting p1ssed and fannying around on your phones you'd actually tried to, y'know, watch the film, your experience may have been a little different? You and your girlfriend sound like exactly the kind of bumholes I try hard not to sit anywhere near in cinemas. If it's instant gratification you desire, perhaps there's a local multiplex you can p1ss off to instead?

Multitasking!!! Here's a tip when you go to see a film, actually try watching it.
Slow burn?? In the first hour; a wall of death, a man finds out that he has a son who he did not know about, several high speed bank robberies. You must have the attention span of a gnat. Film-makers deserve better. Get back to the X Factor!!!

There is no point in trying to make this film sound interesting. It is weak, superficial and dull. I did manage to keep my eyes open, but I really wish I hadn't bothered.
