This could have been so much better than it is, mostly material that can be found in the Stones backlog of released recordings.
There are, according to Bill Wyman's excellent book on the story of the Stones, many unreleased recordings gathering dust. Several that were made in Chicago at the time they recorded their second album for instance. There are also the superb live recordings made with Robert Cray and Bo Didley during the Voodoo Lounge tour that appear on the video but never made it to CD. There is the recording made with John Lee Hooker and Eric Clapton 'Boogie Chillin,' which is far superior to the 'Boogie Chillin' on JLH's 'Best Of CD', but it depends on who has the copyright I imagine.
However the CD is still worth at least 4 stars for bringing together these little gems on one album.
