As a recent convert to the expensive world of oysters, I decided to try shucking a few at home to see whether or not it was worth the hassle (and if I could save myself a few quid in the process). I had a bit of a look around to see what different restaurants were using and realised most of them seemed to favour the 'ice pick' design. I thought this knife looked fairly sturdy, had a guard to protect my hand from slipping onto the blade and at about £[] cost about what I was willing to spend.

It arrived quickly in decent packaging and turned out to be even better than I could have hoped. I've shucked about four dozen oysters with it, the knife's in the same condition it was in when it arrived, an I've yet to find an oyster it can't open.
