lost a band member but not a lost cause,
This review is from: The Lost Riots (Audio CD)
its epic. sam seems to get a little moody. there seems to be an american theme all the way through. however, "the lost riots" is a damn good album. touching lyrics and some really beautiful music. its so good to see a band being able to be so positive even after the loss of a close friend and band member and not drown themselves in grief, turn to grief for inspiration and get grief out in songs (eg. feeder's "comfort in sound")
i was sad to hear the album end. i never got where one song began and another ended. BE WARNED this album is not for everyone and is nothing like "the red the white the blue the black" if your thinking that all the songs are going to be like that. its good to listen to when you're alone, or very quiet or peaceful. it's not an album to make a racket, unlike what the word "riot" may conjoure up in one's head.
it is an amazing debut. though i'd love to hear the 2nd album which they are now recording, i sort of dread it too because they might just do a strokes and not live up to expectations formed by people. when you listen, remind yourself that its only the debut. just imagine what the future holds for them the musicians and us the fortunate listenners.
