This review is from: Asus VS229H 21.5 inch Widescreen IPS Monitor (DVI, VGA, HDMI, 1920 x 1080, 14ms, Headphone Jack) - Black (Accessory)
This is the first item I have ever bought from Asus, I didn't expect expect anything special, but I have to say, this monitor is perfect, right out the box it's easy to assemble the stand and set up, it didn't require any changes to get a good picture, it has 3 channels, 1 for HDMI, 1 for VGA and 1 for DVI, pretty simple. I used the HDMI to connect it from my desktop PC and works a treat. What stopped me buying the Samsung or LG equivalent in the same price range was its wobbly stand (from what I read in reviews) and inability to tilt, this one tilts up and down, and is very sturdy, no wobbling when I type. The picture quality is great, can't really say much more on that, there are no dead pixels, I'm not a gamer so I can't say anything for how it performs there. I haven't found anything wrong so far, having said that I've only had it set up for a few hours, I'd definitely recommend this to anyone.

This is awesome to see, but my MAIN concern with monitors, is the whole washed out look you get when not looking at the 'perfect' angle.. this being something very apparent on the cheaper monitors, and really pees me off. My question is, does this monitor have this issue or can you look at it from all sorts of angles and still be able to see it pretty well? I'm planning on getting a HDMI monitor and using my 900p Samsung 20" as a secondary, so this is looking very promising. I do have to wonder, if it is so amazing, why only 5 reviews?

Mr. Wing L. Tsang says:
have you tried plugging in external speakers to the headphones jack of the monitor?
