Whistle Stop Tour,

Talk radio is a great interview tool, but limited. Too often you will be listening to an interesting interview on Five Live or Talk Sport only for it to be shortened as other events are happening. A CD release should solve this issue by allowing more time to be spent on really getting to know the interviewer, but is this the case with the Talk Sport produced CD `My Sporting Life: Sir Jackie Stewart'? In this CD, radio veteran Danny Kelly interviews one of the most interesting Grand Prix drivers of all time, from his difficulties growing up to his attempts to improve safety whilst/after driving.
With such a rich life, Sir Jackie would need hours to talk and therefore a book would have been better. This book is available as Stewart's own autobiography and the interview here with Kelly becomes a whistle stop tour of some of the main points from that book. For this reason, `My Sporting Life' feels a little flimsy, skirting over areas that could have been dwelt upon. However, Kelly is a very relaxed and knowledgeable sports interviewer who clearly has the respect of Stewart and the chops to interview him. As brief as this CD may feel at times, what is available is interesting to any racing car fan.
