I saw this at the cinema and I was completely blown away by the musical scenes and choreography, but not by the music. Since then I have listened to the soundtrack (which is great by the way) and I have come to love the songs. So when I watched it again, I knew that I would like it even more than the first time, and I was not disappointed.
My favourite song is "We both reached for the gun"; it is just really crazy and has such a fast tempo, and the scene with the dummies is so clever and original.
The acting is great, and I agree that Queen Latifah was the best, although the others are good too. I think Queen Latifah should have won the best supporting actress oscar rather than Catherine Zeta-Jones, but there you go.
This is a brilliant film if you like jazz music, or even if you don't you should see it anyway! It deserved all its 13 Oscar nominations!
