Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 Motherboard (AMD 970/SB950, DDR3, 6 x S-ATA 600, ATX, PCI-Express 2.0, USB 3.0, Socket AM3+) (Personal Computers)
Supports all AM2+/AM3/AM3+ CPUs
Has all the top end features such as SATA6 and USB3...
But where is the internal USB3.0 header??! Come on ASUS I know it's a cheap board but surely you could have made the south bridge heat sink that little bit bigger to support the extra power demand for USB3.
Ah oh well.
6x USB 2.0 + 6x USB 2.0 from internal headers
2x USB 3.0 (It's an ASMedia- likely faster than the SB950 one)
Gigabit Ethernet (It's a Realtek)
4+2 Phase VRM
4x DDR3 Memory slots
6x SATA 3 6gb/s
2x PCIe x16 (the black one runs at x4 electrical)
2x PCIe x1
2x PCI Legacy
HD Audio (It's a Realtek)
3x 4 Pin Case fan header
1x 4 Pin CPU fan header
So for £55 you get a lot of board, just a shame they chose to skimp on some places. (For example the Audio and USB).
I'd get this board over the other popular budget AM3+ boards such as the M5A78L-M/USB3 and the GA-78LMT/USB3 because of the much newer chipsets used.
You will need a separate discrete graphics card with this board as on-board video is not provided on 9 series chipsets.
