I had read and submitted glowing reviews on the first two books which I had thoroughly enjoyed, there was a gap of a few months before I got round to reading this final book in the trilogy and I'm kicking myself fr the delay. I thoroughly enjoyed this contribution, a great story intertwined with characters you become immediately attached to.
The lead character in the book is far more likeable than he was in the first two and the book sweeps you away as a result. It's a real page turner with a great finish .
The book is fiction based I'm sure on some real life experiences , and the authors policing background shines through but don't worry if your not from the same background , it's realistic but not exclusionary
The relationship developed between colleagues is portrayed so well in this book, if you have been in the armed forces or in any relationship where your safety and well being is dependant on others then there is a special bond which is hard to describe. Police officers will understand it, soldiers will understand it, Fire service possibly - anyway The author is able to capture it in this book , his attachment to Andy and Dave is superbly captured
If there is any element if truth about the author and Andy, then he has served his friend well in this book, if there is no truth in it then he has captured a wonderful element of loyalty and friendship tainted and restricted by a work that prevents you from always being there
This book probably deserves five stars but I don't give them unless the book is likely to make it to a top ten books of all time list - it's not Lord of the Rings but my goodness it's a lovely read and well worth 4+ stars
I'm hoping the author is typing away on another book , he deserves success , if he is not then here is a message that as a police officer he will understand
"Get off your arse and put in some graft"
