3.0 out of 5 stars Good Bag but not without its problems, 25 Jan. 2011
By
This review is from: Cabin Max Lyon Flight Approved Bag Wheeled Hand Luggage - Carry on Trolley Backpack 44L 55x40x20 - Black (Luggage)
Firstly, I would say this is a good quality case for a low price and well worth the money, I would happily buy another.

I would like to mention however that I believe the description to be somewhat misleading. If you measure the bag from the floor to the top of the handle it actually measures closer to 60cm than the 55cm stated in the advert, unfortunately this technically makes it too large to take on-board some of the budget airlines as carry on luggage. I say technically as I wonder how may airlines would prevent you taking it on for this reason but that's besides the point.

My solution was to remove the handle completely and to use a strap looped around the grab handle just in front to wheel the case, not ideal but it serves the purpose, is relatively discrete and prevents any chance of me having to pay the dreaded surcharge!

I hope this helps someone.
All the best

Thanks so much for your review. I've just bought the same bag and note the slight error in its dimensions. I am furious. However, will use your suggestion in the hope that I can actually get some use out of the thing!

Thank you for explaining the issue and providing a solution - based on your experience I will go for this one rather than the non wheeled variety. Wheels do come in handy , and using a strap to get the required distance from your legs so that it pulls correctly is not really an issue + as far as I can see the non wheeled variety cost £10 more at the moment and has less features ( but is 55CM tall )

Hi, I know it's yonks after you left your review, but I just wondered how difficult it was to remove the handle? Would it be possible to remove it, pack it and then put it back onto the case? Thanks for the heads up.

Good review, saved me from buying. 60cm.. Ryan would sure stop you as check in staff get bonus for catching larger bags.
Also, Ryan limit is smaller at 55cm x 40cm x 20cm than IATA spec. The seller has misinformed here and needs to be brought to Amazon's attention
