I just didn't get it :-(,
This review is from: Wolf Hall (Thomas Cromwell Trilogy Book 1) (Kindle Edition)
I was so looking forward to roading Wolff Hall as I loved Philippa Gregory's books featuring Henry VIII. But man, was this a difficult book to get into! The story seems to skip decades at a time with some totally irrelevant snippets of non-history (life) and the writing style is bizarre, to say the least. I've previously read books written in another language and translated into English by a seemingly online translator, that I found easier to read with less frustrations. I'm an avid book reader and it's with a heavy heart that I make a decision to abandon a book. Sadly, 7% into the book and it felt too protracted. I also found myself inexplicably busy with other stuff every time I picked up the book and started to read (checking social networking sites, finding a snack, seeking a sharp object to poke my eyes out with). Having checked my Kindle I found that there were still 17.5 hours of reading time left in the book and I promptly deleted it. Sorry Hilary Mantel, I just didn't get it.
