Handbag/pocket sized, it tells you how to read labels when choosing foods and is very clearly set out. The traffic light system of food groups is a very good system and easy to glance at when out shopping or reading a menu.
This is a companion book to the more informativeThe Gi Diet (Revised and Updated): The Glycemic Index; The Easy, Healthy Way to Permanent Weight LossLiving The Gi Diet: To Maintain Healthy, Permanent Weight LossThe Family Gi Diet.
These three books are excellent in giving details of the principles of the diet. Do not buy all three of them though as there is repetition in the first half of the books, pick the one that appeals most to your needs.
