Tough enough to survive the Red Sea...,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: GoPole Bobber - Floating Hand Grip (Camera)
NOTE: this review is primarily aimed at experienced SCUBA divers who may be considering buying a flotation device/safety grip for their GoPro camera.
I bought this accessory/handheld flotation device for two reasons:
1. To ensure that I did not lose a new GoPro Hero 3+ on my first dive - I used the wrist lanyard provided plus an extension clip on my BCD to achieve a secure fastening.
2. To enable me to direct and control my video footage with a steady arm - the small size of the Bobber (compared to, say, an extendible pole) made this very simple to achieve even for a novice camera operator like me.
The folded Bobber/GoPro combination tucked neatly into my Cressi Travelight BCD pocket and was easy to take out and handle at depth. I was not using an LCD viewer/BacPac but the ergonomic grip on Bobber made turning the GoPro round very easy whenever I needed to switch settings.
The yellow Bobber was highly visible even at depth; it was also comfortable to hold during a 50-60 minute dive. I never felt that it would wrestle itself from my grip and make for the surface; the wrist lanyard did its job well albeit that it was a little short in my opinion.
Overall, I'm glad I invested in the Bobber. It was really easy to handle - even in a strong current on Jackson Reef/Tiran - and enabled me to concentrate on taking photos.
