5.0 out of 5 stars Tom Jones Comes Of Age At 70, 6 Nov. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Praise & Blame [VINYL] (Vinyl)
I have been a fan of Tom Jones for the last 40 years and I my opinion this is one of his strongest albums yet.I thought his album Reload was one of those ideas that just did not quite work. However with this album what you get is 7 cover versions of tracks from artists such as Bob Dylan (What Good Am I?),John Lee Hooker (Burning Hell) and Roebuck "Pop" Staples (Don't Knock). You also get 4 tracks written by Tom Jones and Ethan Johns and in my opinion there is not one weak track on the album, the four by Tom and Ethan stand up to scrutinity on their own, check out Ain't No Grave.
I was using this album in it's vinyl form to audition a new turntable in a local hi-fi dealer and it was making people in the shop stop and listen and come over to ask who it was and how much they were enjoying it and what was the name of the album.Needless to say this album is hardly off my turntable.
There are also quite a few noteable artists who join Tom on this album;Christopher Holland,Booker T Jones,Henry Spinetti to name some of them.
If you are a fan of Tome Jones and/or traditional Blues music then this is one album you should have in your collection. Go enjoy.

Hello,
would you be so kind and tell me if there are 11 or
12 tracks (as it says here in the description)
on the vinyl-version. Thank you.
